Research shows that around 60% of working women aged 45–55 report that menopausal or perimenopausal symptoms negatively affect them at work (CIPD / BUPA). For many, this phase coincides with senior roles — leading teams, carrying responsibility, and making critical decisions.
Workplaces, however, are still largely designed around assumptions of consistency: the same energy, output, and pace over decades. Bodies do not work that way — and organizational structures rarely account for this reality.
While there is no standalone legal framework specifically governing (peri)menopause, employers are still required to ensure fair treatment, avoid discrimination, and provide a safe and supportive work environment.
