Denitsa's work experience:
Denitsa is co-founder of Sofia2Go, Eastern Europe’s hospitality food waste reduction platform. Her passion for entrepreneurship has been growing ever since she was awarded a scholarship and attended Babson College’s Summer Entrepreneurship Programme in the United States in 2015.
After that, she has had the chance to apply the valuable knowledge and experience from Babson as the CEO of the Association of the Bulgarian Leaders and Entrepreneurs (ABLE). In this role, she has led and supported a community of 300+ entrepreneurs, while developing ABLE as a sustainable organisation which is a significant player among the startup-supporters' network in Europe.
Deni has then taken it to a global level as the Delivery Manager for the international Leaders in Innovation Fellowships (LIF) programme of the British Royal Academy of Engineering. She has played a key role in building the capacity of researchers for entrepreneurship and commercialisation of their research in Africa, Latin America and South-East Asia.
She deeply believes in mentoring and therefore has acted as an advisor to deep tech startups from the LIF programme, to Master degree students from the Wageningen University in the Netherlands, as well as to local startups in Bulgaria. Consulting them on their business models and strategic development is only a small part of supporting founders to succeed. Deni believes entrepreneurs also need support to mentally endure the challenging process of founding a risky venture in an uncertain environment. Networking and making connections with the right investors or business partners is another essential part of the puzzle and she believes she can support founders with accessing them.
Deni’s professional experience includes working as a business reporter at the most influential business media in Bulgaria - Capital.bg. Her career has begun at the governmental Invest Bulgaria Agency where as an expert on “General investment services” she supported the process of attracting foreign direct investment to the country. Last but not least, she holds Master degree of e-Management and Bachelor degree of Industrial Engineering and Management from the Technical University of Sofia.
The fun part - she is a real foodie and loves travelling the world and tasting international cuisine. Her favourite sports are basketball and swimming and she relaxes while playing the piano or reading books, lots of books :-)
Denitsa is open for:
build a network for a lifetime.

I'm having trouble deciding who to apply for, how do you pick a good mentor? That all depends on your career goals for the upcoming months- so ask yourself where do you want to be in half a year or year from now. Do you want to expand your company in a certain field? Start your own company? Or side business? Do you want to gain a particular skill set? Or maybe you want to move up within your corporation? Choosing a good mentor FOR YOU depends on a lot of things. But we’ve seen that a good mentor mentee relationship and successful outcomes mainly depends on good chemistry aka. you two get along and that the person can give you relevant advice and know-how that will help to excel in YOUR personal career. So ask yourself: “Will I vibe well with this person?” “How is their career and experience relevant to mine?” “How will it help me get to where I want to be in a certain period of time?” "How could my mentor actually benefit from my knowhow and skillset?"
